Wright Family celebrates reunion at Shadowbrook Resort

    formerly of Kingston, who recently held a reunion at the Shadowbrook Resort in
    Tunkhannock. This was the first reunion in 32 years and all 77 members attended. The family gathered from Oregon, Illinois, Virginia, New Jersey and
    PennsylvaniaIrish races aid St. Joseph's
    For the 18th year, proceeds from the Irish Heritage Games were donated to St. Joseph's Center in Scranton. This year's event raised $3,150 and was sponsored by the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Donegal Society, Bartikowsky Jewelers, Gennese Brewing Company, Mellon Bank, Grotto Pizza, Pepsi-Cola, Three Springs Water and Turkey Hill Stores. Taking part in the check presentation, kneeling from left, are: Joe Clark, chairman of the games; Griffin, a resident of St. Joseph's; and Sister Vincentia Dorsey, IHM, the Center's administrator. Standing: Herman Balas, Arrow Beer Distributors; Alan Syreika and Stan Daniels, both of A.B.A.T.E. of Pa. which handled traffic control; and Tom O'Hara and Jack Lenahan co-chairs of the event.

    Wilkes student teachers begin fall semester
