Stanley J. Jarolin, 67, of Kosciuszko Street, Nanticoke, died Saturday at
Kieler Pond, Newport Township.
Born in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Emil and Victoria (Struzenski)
Jarolin.
He was a 1950 graduate of Nanticoke High School.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, serving as an
airman first class.
He was self-employed as a plumbing contractor for Jarolin Plumbing &
Heating, Nanticoke, and represented the 119th District in the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1982-1998.
He was past president of the Nanticoke Lions Club and the Nanticoke Chamber
of Commerce; a member of St. Mary's Church, Nanticoke; the Nanticoke Fraternal
Order of Eagles; Nanticoke Fraternal Order of Police; Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 1425; Tatra Club of Luzerne County; American Legion Post 350, Nanticoke;
Pennsylvania State Troopers Association; and the White Eagle Fishing Club. He
was former tax collector for the City of Nanticoke.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Emil; and sister, Marie Hvozda.
Surviving are his wife, the former Theresa Raymond, Nanticoke; sons,
Michael, Nanticoke; and Robert, Annandale, Va.; daughters, Kathleen Buchkowski
and Brenda Heck, both of Nanticoke; one grandchild; brother, Joseph, Sheatown
section of Newport Township; sister, Jean Czapracki, Pallisades Park, N.J.;
and nephews.
Military funeral services conducted by American Legion Post 350 will be at
8:30 a.m. Thursday from the Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51-53 W. Green St.,
Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church,
Nanticoke, with the Rev. John Krafchak officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday.
