Garrity’s late goal lifts BOR

SHICKSHINNY -- Kathleen Garrity scored the go-ahead goal with just over three minutes left in Bishop O’Reilly’s 2-1 Wyoming Valley Conference field hockey victory over host Northwest Area on Monday.

Teammate Marissa Chesnavich opened the scoring nearly eight minutes into the first half. Northwest’s Kristy Tuturow tied the score with 9:29 left in the half.

Kathleen Paley had seven saves in the win. Her counterpart Michelle Cragle stopped 19 for Northwest, which was outshot 20-7.

Delaware Valley 3, Tunkhannock 0

Brooke Edwards had two goals and an assist. Maghee Stankewicz also scored a goal. Chrissy Smith needed just three saves to record the shutout.

Courtney Johnston and Rachel Docktor combined for 13 saves in the loss.

Lake-Lehman 2, Abington Heights 0

Kelsey Amy and Joscelyn Mahon both scored. Caroline Boris had one save in the shutout. The Black Knights outshot Abington Heights 28-2. Delia Riggi had 17 saves in the loss.

Lackawanna Trail 2, GAR 0

Caitlin Green scored both goals in Lackawanna Trail’s third shutout of the season. Alyssa DelPrete was in the cage for Trail, but didn’t record any saves.

Dara Romanoskey had seven saves for the Grenadiers.

Crestwood 4, Wyoming Valley West 0

Amy Daniel had two first half goals. Kayla Gluchowski and Alisha Moran also scored. Caroline Suitch and Kylie Licata combined for four saves in the shutout.

Jenna Lehman stopped 10 shots in the loss.

Hazleton Area 4, Southern Columbia 0

Trisha Kapes had a goal and an assist. Kaitlyn Bevans scored the first goal off a penalty corner. Chelsea Marszalek and Dana Kavitski also recorded goals.

Monica Dennison had three saves in her third shutout of the season.
