Danielle Kuchinskas, Courtdale, accepted a position with Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, Times Square, New York. She is a recent graduate of University of Pennsylvania, where she doubled-majored in bioengineering and economics. She is the daughter of Bernard and MaryAnn Kuchinskas, Courtdale.

W. Francis Keating, Ph.D, has been named as dean of arts and sciences at Luzerne County Community College. Keating has a Ph.D, a C.A.S. and a M.S. in educational administration and policy studies from the State University of New York at Albany. He also holds a B.A. in English with a minor in social studies and education from King’s College. He previously served as assistant professor in the Department of Educational Studies and Secondary Education at Bloomsburg University and as superintendent of the South Kortright Central School in South Kortright, N.Y. He has also served as principal of the Montgomery C. Smith Middle School in Hudson, N.Y.; assistant principal of Hudson High School, Hudson, N.Y.; assistant superintendent at Downsville Central School, Downsville, N.Y.; as an administrative intern at Montgomery C. Smith Middle School, Hudson, N.Y.; and as an English teacher at Hudson Middle School, Hudson, N.Y. Keating has been a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, New York State Counsel of School Superintendents, American Association of School Administrators, and Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties. Keating is married to the former Maureen Ryan Voitek. They reside in Kingston. Keating has one son, Christopher, who resides with his wife, Julie, in Kinderhook, N.Y.

Alia Pyros, of Shavertown and a member of Elmira College’s Talented Class of 2010, was recognized during the College’s Fall Academic Convocation for receiving a Presidential Scholarship. The scholarship award is valued at $40,000 over four years is based on rank in secondary school class, overall academic achievement and test scores. Pyros is majoring in liberal arts and is the daughter of Jeff and Terri Pyros.
