Ms. Verna “Bonnie” Jane Demchak, 63, of Hanover Township, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at General Hospital with her children and grandchildren by her side.
She was born Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Nov. 10, 1942, a daughter of Clayton and Myrtle (Fifield) Frenyea.
Bonnie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Her family and friends were her life, but she also loved her occasional game of bingo.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Myrtle (Fifield) Frenyea; her daughter Verna “Bonnie” Devins; her grandchildren Megan Demchak and Joseph George; her sisters Linda Tripp and Rose Collins; and her brother Richard Frenyea.
Surviving are her children Penny and her husband Mike King, Warrior Run; Brenda and her husband, Pat Holroyd, Hanover Township; Myron Jr., Scranton; Maryellen and her husband, Thomas Romanowski, West Nanticoke; Myra and her husband, Kerry Nesbitt, Sugar Notch; Kim and her fiancé, Matt Lacey, Truesdale Terrace; Bobbiejo and her husband, Eric Washick, Wilkes-Barre; Bonniejo Vanderlick, Barbara Sims and Robert Vanderlick, all of Hanover Township; son-in-law Eugene Devins, Saranac, N.Y.; her siblings Mitzi and her husband, Leonard Seymour, Morrisonville, N.Y.; Agnew “sister” and her husband, Elmer, Morrisonville, N.Y.; Beverly and husband Eugene “cowboy” Devins, Saranac, N.Y.; “Bud” Frenyea, Morrisonville, N.Y.; 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home, 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for Bonnie’s two mentally challenged children, whom she was still taking care of, Robert (Down’s Syndrome) and Bonniejo.
