Pauline Marie Elizabeth Letner Shea, 86, passed away Saturday morning at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Shea, who passed away in 1980.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late August and Anna (Fox) Letner. She was a graduate of J.M. Coughlin High School. She was a member of St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church, Ashley. Mrs. Shea served as president of the Ashley Neighborly Senior Citizens, and also as an officer of the Catholic Daughters. She was a member of St. John’s Seniors and the Ladies of Catholic Charity. She was also a member of the ILGWU. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Pauline Ann.
Surviving are her four daughters Rita Ferrance, Carol Langan, Catherine Pugh, Michele Zabriskia; sons-in-law; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister Dorothy Elliott; numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral at 9:15 a.m. Monday from the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley, with the Rev. Thomas J. O’Malley officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
