Barbara L. Bauer, 61, a resident of South Welles Street, Wilkes-Barre, died suddenly Saturday morning at her home.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Aug. 29, 1945, a daughter of the late Roy and Marie (Kingsbury) Geiger. She attended the James M. Coughlin High School and had been employed for many years by the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas. She was an avid bingo player and was a devoted mother and grandmother; her grandchildren were her greatest gifts. She also was active for many years in the McCarthy’s Dart League in Wilkes-Barre.
She has been preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Geiger; her first husband, Andrew Denar, and her second husband, John Huhn. Surviving are daughters, Deanna Gosser and her husband, David, Pittston; Jenifer Bauer, at home; sons, John Huhn, at home; William Geiger and his wife, Stacey, Forty Fort; Anthony Bauer and his wife, Tracey, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Jeremy and fiancée, Jolene; Amber, Zachary, Tayia, Lucas, Natalie; twin brother and sister, William Geiger and Catherine Geiger Connell, Plains Township.
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Robert Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Shavertown.
Friends may call Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
