Elaine Cheslick, 59, of Scott Street, Swoyersville, left this earth unexpectedly on Thursday to be reunited with her husband Joseph Cheslick, who passed away Dec. 31, 2000.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Kushner) Rozinski. She was a 1965 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Wilkes-Barre. Elaine assisted with the operations of Penn Dental, the family’s business. She was also a member of the Parish Community of Holy Name/St. Mary’s, Swoyersville. Elaine will be remembered by family and friends as a loving and compassionate person who always put the needs of others ahead of her own.
She resided with her aunt Mary Kushner and cared for her until her death in 1990. She enjoyed spending time gardening, caring for her grandson Jacob, who affectionately called her “Grammy Van,” and her dogs Hannah and Saidy.
Elaine will be sadly missed by children, Lisa, Pittston; Joseph, Kristen and fiancé Jeffrey Janosky; grandson Jacob Janosky, all of Swoyersville; brothers, Robert Rozinski, William Rozinski; and stepmother Helen Rozinski, all of New Jersey.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Name/St. Mary’s Church, Swoyersville. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
