Calvin E. Hartman Sr., 81, of Garden Drive, Hunlock Creek, died Saturday afternoon at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Muhlenburg on April 30, 1925, he was a son of the late Elwood and Emily “Gussy” Smith Hartman.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by Apex Auto Parts of West Nanticoke for over 30 years, and also operated Hartman’s Garage in Hunlock Creek.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served in the Seabees in the Pacific Theater.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Frances Mary Collura; son Timothy; daughter Bonnie Cease; and a brother, Edward.
Surviving are sons Calvin E. Jr. and Ronald Hartman of Muhlenburg; daughters Loretta Evan of Muhlenburg, with whom he recently resided; Barbara McMichael of Muhlenburg; Frances Mary Edwards of Hunlock Creek; Emily Shelley of Wilkes-Barre; brother Carl, of Muhlenburg; stepson Floyd Eaton of Duryea; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Charles L. Cease Funeral Home, 634 Reyburn Road, Shickshinny, with the Rev. C. Glenn Neely of the Reyburn Bible Church officiating.
Interment will be in Sorber Cemetery, Reyburn. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
