Agnes Roman

Agnes M. Roman, 79, of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully Sunday evening at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born and raised in Port Griffith, she was a daughter of the late Steven and Pauline Monko. Mrs. Roman was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Holy Name/St. Mary’s Parish Community, Swoyersville.

Mrs. Roman enjoyed flower gardening.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roman, who passed away in March 1964; daughter Suzanne Roman; and her brothers and sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Paula Roman, Kingston; and Lorraine Vasilik and her husband, Dennis, Los Alamos, New Mexico; grandchildren Stephen and Anastasia Vasilik; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Buddie and Harry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Name/St. Mary’s Church, 283 Shoemaker St., Swoyersville, with the Rev. Louis Grippe officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Swoyersville.

There will be no public calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Agnes’ memory to the American Heart Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania, 71 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
