Gilbert Simon, 45, of Albert Road, Mountain Top, passed away at his residence on Monday morning.
Born in Little Ferry, NJ, he was a son of the late Robert and Belinda (Henches) Simon, and has resided in the Mountain Top area since 1965. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and prior to his retirement, was employed by the Cornell Iron Works as a regional sales manager.
Gil was a member of St. Luke’s Church in Mountain Top and was an avid fisherman and woodworker.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by daughter Ellen, brother Robert and sisters Margaret, Ruth and Mae.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Buckley; daughter Mary Weaver, Browns Mills, NJ; sons Michael, Mountain Top; and Gilbert, San Antonio, TX; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the McCune Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Luke’s Church.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
