Motorists: headlights on when wipers are on

When it’s raining or snowing, motorists are reminded to turn on their headlights, state police said.

A new law takes effect on Jan. 29 that motorists are to turn on their headlights whenever the vehicle’s windshield wipers are in continuous or intermittent use due to precipitation or moisture such as fog.

Anyone convicted of violating the changed law faces a fine of $25 plus costs, which could total $100.
