Robert T. Morgan, a son of the late William and Mary Gilmartin Morgan of West Pittston, passed away March 24, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, the former Edith Petrillo, of Yatesville.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish and graduated from St. John the Evangelist High School, class of 1943. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines in World War II, and earned the U.S. Merchant Marines Combat Bar with one star; Atlantic War Zone Bar; The Pacific War Zone Bar and Mediterranean-Middle East War Zone Bar. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 514; VFW Post 4909, Dupont; and the National Rifle Association of America. He was an avid SCUBA diver and did some sky diving.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday from the Adonizio Funeral Home, 257 William St., Pittston, from 8 to 9 a.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Exeter.
