Kathleen “Kay” M. Honeywell, 81, of Puritan Lane, Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born July 17, 1925, in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late Harry T. and Catherine (Meyers) Price. She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo, N.Y.
Prior to her retirement she had been employed for many years as a registered nurse in the pediatrics department at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.
Mrs. Honeywell was a member of St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Snyder.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Arthur L. Honeywell; daughters, Arleen Rinker and her husband, Dale, of Williamsburg, Va., and Sandra Moss and her husband, Donald, of Pine Valley, N.Y.; sons, Ronald Honeywell, of Wilkes-Barre, and Robert Honeywell, of Wilkes-Barre; six grandchildren, Heather, Christopher and Stephanie Rinker, Jason, Melissa and Gregory Honeywell; eight great-grandchildren; special friend, Kim; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Msgr. Thomas V. Banick, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wyoming Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, 256 N. Sherman St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
