Dorothy B. Yocum, 91, formerly of Norristown, died Sunday morning, June 24, 2007, in Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre, following an illness.
Born in Lansdale, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Minnie (Thiemich) Boorse.
She and her husband, Norvin, who died November 15, 1994, formerly owned and operated an auto glass and radiator repair business, a miniature golf course and a Tasty Freeze in the Norristown area, where she had resided for most of her life.
She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, playing bingo and was a member of the Norristown Senior Citizens Group.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Charles, and Raymond; sisters, Marion Cartwright and Virginia Smith.
She is survived by daughters, Carol L. McInaw, of Plains, and Sharon A. Bolis, of Green Lane, Pa.; brother, Richard Boorse, of Lansdale; sister, Grace Ehly, of Lansdale; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A private family viewing will be held Wednesday with services in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens Cemetery, King of Prussia, with Rev. Thomas Kochenderfer, Pastor of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Audubon, officiating. Arrangements are by the Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark St., Plains Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 2725 Egypt Rd., Audubon, PA 19403.
