Peter Steve III of Dallas recently took part in the U.S. Youth Soccer Association’s National Championships in Dallas, Texas, as part of the FC Delco U17 Dynamo team, of Philadelphia, which ended up winning the bronze medal in the competition. Steve, a goalkeeper, is a senior at Dallas High School and is captain of the boys soccer team, coached by Chris Scharff and Abe Lewis. Steve is also trained by Bob Zanicky of the United Soccer Training Academy. All games were played at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas. FC Delco represented Region I in the elite national tournament that featured teams from around the United States. Delco qualified for the national championships by winning the Pennsylvania State Cup in May and the Region I title in Portland, Maine, in July. Because of its Region I title and third-place performance in the national title tournament, FC Delco is ranked the third-best team in the country in the U17 age category.
