Anna Brazzo Novitsky, 84, of Weatherly, died Monday, December 24, 2007 at Weatherwood.
She was the beloved wife of Daniel T. Novitsky. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on September 2.
A daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Zboyarsky Brazzo, she was born December 28, 1922 in Beaver Meadows.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Andrew, John (Jack), Michael “DeDe” and George Brazzo.
She was junior branch president of the Immaculate Conception BVM Sodality of SS.Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Beaver Meadows, and was a member of the Beaver Meadows Girls Club.
After graduating from Hazleton High School in 1940, she was employed at the Hazleton Standard Sentinel.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, David, and his wife Robin, of Weatherly; Anita (Learn), wife of William McCartney, of Jim Thorpe; Arlene, wife of Russell Swantko, of Columbia, Md., and Alice, wife of William Houk, of Gaithersburg, Md.
She was grandmother to nine, Jennifer (Learn) Andes, Pamela (Learn) Schleicher, Vanessa (Learn) List, Amy and Jessica Swantko, Laura and Ryan Novitsky, and Brian and Stephanie Houk.
Her six great-grandchildren are Rebecca Halcisak, Eli, Joshua and Jacob Suveg, and Emily and Madelyn List.
Private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home Weatherly is assisting the family with arrangements.
