Catherine Faber, 68, of Exeter, formerly of Pittston, passed away unexpectedly, Monday morning, December 24, 2007, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Pittston, on August 25, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Broccio Polit. She was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1957.
Kay was employed for 35 years by the Luzerne County Courts System starting as Secretary to the late President Judge, Robert Hourigan; and later as the Director of the Senior Judge’s staff and liaison between the Senior Judges and the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts.
Surviving are her sons, John Faber and his wife Kathy, El Paso, Texas, and their daughter, Annie; and Robert Faber, Jr. West Pittston; sisters, Mary and her husband Dominick DeNaples, Dunmore and Charlene and her husband, Daniel Evancho, Laflin; aunt, Rose Medico, West Pittston, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 802 Susquehanna Avenue, West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church, Rev. Joseph Sibilano, O.S.J., to officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Market Street, Pittston.
