Five area business leaders have been appointed as officers for the association. Frank Pasquini, King’s College, president; John Chaump, Barnes & Noble, first vice president; Rob Neher, Luzerne Bank, second vice president; Gretchen Sevison, YMCA, secretary; Lori Charnogursky, PNC Bank, treasurer.


David C. Pasquini, Trucksville, has been named student services coordinator in the Center for Adult and Continuing Education. Pasquini will provide service to non-traditional, graduate, undergraduate, special and prospective students for educational programs, including extended day, evening and off-campus classes. Pasquini earned his bachelor’s degree in English from King’s College and his certification in desktop publishing from the University of Scranton.


Nicholas Adler, resident choreographer and theatre instructor for the Conservatory Theatre Department, has accepted a position as performance manager for Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. Adler will be in charge of managing any one of the three main performance venues. Jazz at Lincoln Center is the home to the Great Performers and the American Songbook series. Adler, a former Wilkes University student, as well as current staff member, holds a bachelor’s degree in theatre with minors in music and dance. He has performed in numerous productions in a variety of locations. Adler also served as the general manager at the Pocono Playhouse for four seasons. He is the part-time coordinator of the Cultural Council of Luzerne County and is the co-founder of NiCori Studios and Productions.


Jennifer Feist, of Wilkes-Barre, a senior accountant in the Philadelphia office, has successfully completed the CPA examination and earned a license to practice as a certified public accountant in Pennsylvania. Feist works in the tax department and concentrates on individual tax returns and pass-through entities. Prior to joining the tax department, she worked on commercial audits and audits of employee benefit plans. Feist has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Temple University.


Bob’s Sporting Goods, located at 133 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton, recently received the “Downtown Pride” award for the month of December from the Downtown Committee of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce. Dryfoos Insurance Agency Inc., located at 28 S. Vine St., Hazleton, recently received the award for the month of January. The award was initiated to recognize the efforts of individual businesses that set an example of pride in conducting a business in the downtown area.

The Hazleton office of Fine Line Homes was named Top Performing Office for 2007 at the annual sales meeting. The award is based on sales goal, home starts and sales volume. The company has five locations throughout central Pennsylvania and southern New York.
