DRUMS: The Mountain Top Welcome Club will sponsor its annual charity auction on April 24 at the Stage Coach Inn in Drums. All proceeds will benefit the three charities chosen by the club’s members: the Marian Sutherland Kirby Library, Mountain Top, Youth Soccer Association and the Wright Township Park Expansion Project.
The silent auction starts at 6 p.m. and live auction begins at 7 p.m. in the Crystal Ballroom. Local club members and businesses have donated a variety of items to bid on including gift certificates to local businesses, homemade crafts and items, baked goods, theme baskets, clothing and sports tickets.

LAFLIN: A Victorian Spring Tea is planned at 2 p.m. on April 20 at St. Maria Goretti Banquet Hall, Laflin Road.
A variety of five different types of finger sandwiches will be served in a buffet-style setting along with baked goods made by the ladies of the parish. Coffee, flavored teas and water will also be served and favors provided.
Victoriana Lady Lisa Lewis will give a presentation on 19th century fashions, etiquette, lifestyles and manners. Lewis has been selected into the National Registry of Living Historians and has given many presentations throughout the area. She will attend fully dressed in authentic period fashions and accessories.
There will also be a Chinese auction and a raffle for a handmade quilt that will be chanced on the day of the Tea.
Men, children and Red Hat groups are very invited. The cost per person is $17.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. Table reservations for groups of eight to 10 people can be made when tickets are purchased. Also groups of three or more should notify the office so that seating arrangements can be made.
Tickets will be available after all Masses starting the weekend of March 29-30; on April 5 at the parish’s Spring Gift Fair; from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. on April 6 at Sunshine Market in Plains Township; and at the parish office. Tickets must be purchased by April 13. For more information, call 655-8956.
