JACKSON TWP. – Residents are reminded that the township has an ordinance that requires a building permit and contractor registration for any new construction, repairs and alterations being done to any building or property.
Building permits and contractor registrations may be applied for at the Zoning Office in the township’s municipal building, 2211 Huntsville Road.
Residents are also reminded to clean up their properties and discard any junk and debris that could be considered a nuisance. Inspections will be conducted.
The township also has a burning ordinance all residents must comply with.

WYOMING - Recycling will be collected on Thursdays. Newspapers and commingled will alternate weeks for pickup. Commingled recycling will be collected on April 3. Newspapers will be collected on March 27.
Residents who need to report uncollected garbage or recycling should call 883-0725.
Residents are reminded that zoning and building permits are required within borough limits. Contractors are also reminded they need a license to do work within the borough. Please contact the zoning office at 693-0291 ext. 3 for more information.
Borough Tax Collector Paul Konopka informs residents the 2008 county/borough taxes have been mailed and are due at rebate value until April 4. Office hours at the borough building are 9 to 10:30 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays. Those residents having escrow accounts should forward their tax bill to their lending institutions for payment. If paying by mail and a receipt is desired, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope and send both copies of the bill. The tax office phone number is 613-1403.
The borough manager’s office, street department and tax office will be closed Monday, March 24 for the Easter holiday.
FAIRVIEW TWP. – The zoning board will meet at 7:30 p.m. on April 9 at the township building, 65 Shady Tree Dr., Mountain Top. The board will hear a request from James Taleroski, 16 Brook Lane, for a variance in reduction in a side yard set back.
EXETER – The rebate period for garbage stickers ends on March 31. Stickers are $95 for seniors 62 and older by March 31. The price for those under 62 is $130. Starting April 1, garbage stickers will be $185 for senior citizens 62 and older and $220 for all others. There will be no extensions.
Stickers may be purchased 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evening hours are 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. To pay by mail, send a check in a self-addressed stamped envelope to 1101 Wyoming Avenue. Make checks payable to Exeter Borough.
Recycling containers with lids for newspapers and junk mail can be picked up at the borough building on Wyoming Avenue. One will be given out per household.
It is a requirement to keep the borough updated on any new tenants. Forms are available at the borough building, or call Lynda at 654-3001 ext. 2 and give her the information.
It is mandatory for businesses in the borough to recycle. Stickers can be purchased for recycling during the refuse hours. Recycling stickers are $130 per year.
All garbage must be in cans or a plastic garbage bag. There is a three can limit. Boxes with garbage in them are not accepted. No bulk items will be taken unless arrangements are made with the waste hauler. There is an extra charge for this service.
