Celebrate the end of another school year by coming to Marywood University for a great week of fine arts showcases!

The Children’s Theater Production “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” will open at the Sette La Verghetta Center for the Performing Arts on April 23 at 10 a.m. The show will also be performed on April 24 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., April 25 at 10 a.m. and 1p.m. and April 26 at 11a.m. Admission is $4. On April 25, The Maslow Collection at Marywood’s Mahady Gallery will be opening to the public. The exhibition continues a longstanding relationship between Marywood and The Maslow Collection as well as initiates a new expanded partnership. The emphasis in this exhibition will be placed on presenting some of the most significant works in the Collection as well as providing an overview of the development of The Maslow Collection since its inception in the early 1980s. Selected works by Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Sherrie Levine, Chuck Close, Sandy Skoglund, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Jack Goldstein, Barbara Kasten, Melissa Meyer, Steven Campbell and Tony Sorce among others will be included in the exhibition. There will be a community reception on April 27 from 2-4 p.m. at the Mahady Gallery. This exhibition will be open until June 27. For more information call 570.348.6278.

The Music Department Benefit Concert will be held on April 27 at 4 p.m. at the Sette La Verghetta Center for Performing Arts. The Benefit Concert helps provide future Marywood music majors with a music scholarship. General seating is $15, and students, children and seniors will be $5.
