WILKES-BARRE – A Hughestown man waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Central Court recently on charges he stole items in a burglary at a neighbor’s home, according to Hughestown police and court records.

Christopher Kmetz, 19, of Parsonage Street, waived charges of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and criminal mischief to Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas.

According to the criminal complaint filed by officer Robert Evans:

Kmetz entered a neighbor’s home on Parsonage Street by breaking a basement window on April 29, police said, and stole jewelry and other items valued at $1,511.
