Erna B. Thier, 86, of Sweet Valley, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at home.
Born in Vienna, Austria, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Bertha Lautner Kretzner. She and her husband were co-owners of King Neptune Seafood. Erna was co-founder and member of the German-Austria Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of Harveys Lake American Legion.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Thier; sons Heinz Zofaley, Austria; Robert W Sorber, Harveys Lake; William W. Sorber, Dallas; brother Alex Kretzner, Austria; grandchildren Heather Rainford, Shannon Perez, William Sorber, Shawn Sorber, Todd Demarcl; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains, with the Rev. Martin Browne, rector of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, and Rev. Hieromonk Michael Thier, rector St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church, officiating. Interment will be in St John’s Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Pringle.
