The Clover will perform at Bart & Urby’s Thursday.


Veteran Irish punk/folk band The Clover will perform at Bart and Urby’s (119 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre) Thursday, July 24. The State College-based group promises amped-up versions of traditionals like “Danny Boy” as well as originals like “Drink This Problem Away” and “Last Rock Soldiers.” Bob Lewis is also on the bill.

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain will hold a “Straight Talk Town Hall Meeting” Wednesday July 23 at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre. Doors open at 8 a.m. Tickets are not required, and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Wednesday’s showing of the film “The Duchess of Langeais” at the Kirby has been cancelled.
