Back Mountain Food Pantry meets to review 2007 events

The Back Mountain Food Pantry Board of Directors recently held its annual meeting to review the events of 2007 during which the pantry marked its 30th anniversary. Sponsored by the Back Mountain Ministerium and organized in 1977, the pantry is located at Trucksville United Methodist Church and serves Dallas Borough, Dallas Township, Harveys Lake, Lake Township, Hunlock Creek, Jackson Township, Kingston Township, Lehman Township, Noxen and Sweet Valley. Throughout the year, more than 600 households received food orders from the pantry. The board of directors recognized Louise Hazeltine for her many years of service as food pantry coordinator and her efforts that led to the pantry’s expansion.
