Helen Marko Viana, 93, formerly of Oakwood Park, Laflin, passed away Sunday at the Smith Nursing Center, Mountain Top.
Born and raised in the Hanover section of Nanticoke, Mrs. Viana was a daughter of the late Michal and Maryann Kocaj Marko.
She was the wife of the deceased Charles Viana.
She was retired from Horn and Hardart, New York City, and also by Pocono Downs, where she was employed for many years.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Nanticoke, for many years, and St. Maria Goretti, Laflin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, John, Michael, Stephen, Walter, Joseph, Stanley; and a sister, Anne.
She is survived by a brother, Frank, and his wife, Viola; sister-in-law, Regina; caregivers, Tom and Rita Mickowski; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Nanticoke. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
