PSU-WB claims golf title

DALLAS -- Penn State Wilkes-Barre scored 314 points to claim the PSU/WB Invitational Golf Tournament at Irem Temple Golf Club beating out five other teams.

Steve Sabol (Dallas grad) and Zach Aciukewicz (Holy Redeemer grad) carded 75s to lead the Lions, while Mike Haley (Wyoming Valley West alum) shot 80 and Bobby Konarski (Holy Redeemer grad) and Justin Sherin (Bishop O’Reilly product) shot 84s.

Women’s Tennis Misericordia 6, Marywood 3

Abby Searfoss, Ashley Mangabang, Courtney Otto and Sarah Golis were all double-winners for the Cougars (6-1).

Searfoss won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively then teamed to win No. 1 doubles.

Otto paired with Maura Haupt to win at No. 2 doubles, while Golis teamed up with Jennifer Spott to win No. 3 doubles.

King’s 7, Baptist Bible 2

Jillian Tallarico, Courtnay Wilson, Christy Rossowski, Rachel Hoffnagle, Diana Darby and Jennifer Bader all won in straight sets at singles to help King’s improve to 5-2.

Men’s Soccer Misericordia 7, Baptist Bible 0

The Cougars got goals from seven different players for the second straight game as they improved to 6-2.

Bryan Kulbacki, Chris Hummel, Dan Pinto, Josh Stewart, Joe DiGirolomo, Tim Bullis and Josh Buskirk all had goals for Misericordia, which outshot Baptist Bible 25-7.
