William M. “Billy” Boor, of Perkasie, Pa., died suddenly Saturday, September 20, 2008, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township, Pa. He was 16.
Born in West Rockhill Township, Pa., he was a son of Tim M. (Bidden) Merl and her husband, Randolph M., of Perkasie, and Dennis J. Boor and his wife, Lynn C., of Nanticoke, Pa.
Billy was currently a junior in the class of 2010 at Pennridge High School, Perkasie, where he served as the PHS Baseball Team Manager. He played baseball with Sports for Special Kids, Quakertown, Pa.
He was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Perkasie.
An avid sports and NASCAR fan, Billy earnestly collected Dale Earnhardt memorabilia. He also enjoyed the guitar and video games.
Surviving with his parents and stepparents are his maternal grandparents, Carl and Ann Marie Dean, of Red Hill, Pa.; his step-grandparents, Herbert and Christa Merl, of New Albany, Pa.; his sister, Kristen M. Boor, of Perkasie; two stepbrothers, Wyatt R. Merl, of Warrington, Pa., and David Newell, of Nanticoke, Pa.; two stepsisters, Raina M. Merl, of Warrington, Pa., and Shelley Pegler and her husband, Todd, of Forest Hill, Md.; aunts and uncles Leslie Bidden and her husband, Aldo, of Northampton, Pa.; Laurie Prestosh and her husband, Timothy, of Bethlehem, Pa.; Joseph Conforti and his wife, Michelle, of Brookhaven, Pa.; Susan Benner and her husband, Jay, of Sellersville, Pa.; Karen Mette and her husband, Thomas, of Fort Washington, Pa.; and Peter Merl and his wife, Rosemary, of Warminster, Pa.; 16 cousins; four nieces and nephews; and his best friends, Nathan Gross, William Donnelly, Thomas Smith and Joseph “Buddy” Kress.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral services to be held Thursday, September 25, 2008, at noon in St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, 110 N. Sixth St., Perkasie.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends may call Wednesday evening, from 6 to 9, at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch St., Perkasie, or Thursday morning, from 11 a.m. until service time, at the church.
