GAR Soccer Booster Club will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. at Mag’s Halftime Pub on Moyallen Street in Wilkes-Barre. Senior Day Festivities will be discussed.

GAR Football Booster Club will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. in the school choral room. Night at the races plans will be set.

Hanover Area Wrestling Booster Club will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Hanover Area High School cafeteria. Parents of elementary or high school wrestlers are encouraged to attend.


Back Mountain Youth Football will hold registration on Saturday at the Wycallis Elementary School Cafeteria from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Children interested must be between the ages of 5-14 and reside in one of the following communities: Franklin Township, Harvey’s Lake, Jackson Township, Kunkle, Noxen, Beaumont and Orange. Registrants must have the following: copy of a birth certificate, medical insurance, two proofs of residency and a recent photo. Payment will be due at the time of registration. Forty Fort Pioneers Soccer will hold signups on from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, May 2 and May 16 at the Forty Fort building basement. Cost is $30 for the first player, $20 for the second child and $5 for additional children. A family fundraising fee of $40 is also due at registration Forty Fort residency not required.

Greater Pittston Junior Legion Baseball will hold tryouts on Saturday and Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Atlas Field in West Pittston. Players age 13-15 residing in Pittston, West Pittston, Pittston Township (West of the Pittston Bypass), Harding, Falls, Exeter Township, Exeter, Wyoming, and West Wyoming are eligible. All players must provide proof of age and residency. Even if you played last year, you must try out again. The cost for players who make the team is $100. GAR Football Booster Club will host a “Night at the Races” on Saturday at Saint Patrick’s Church Hall, Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and post time is 7:15 p.m.

Newport Township Little League will hold its opening day on Saturday. Lineup for parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Glen Lyon Cemetery. The parade will start at 10 a.m. Opening Ceremonies will begin at the Little League field following the parade.

South Wilkes-Barre Little League will hold its Second Annual Golf Tournament Sunday at Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course with shotgun start at 1 p.m. This is the leagues major fundraiser.
