His Eminence Angelo Cardinal Sodano, dean of the Sacred College of Cardinals and former Vatican secretary of state, will be the celebrant of a Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving at 3 p.m. on Pentecost Sunday, May 31, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, William Street, Pittston. Sodano’s visit to the Greater Pittston area May 29-31 is to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the presence and ministry of the Congregation of the Oblates of St. Joseph in the Diocese of Scranton. The Order staffs the parishes of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. Rocco’s, Pittston; and St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter.
