Robert Trosky, 79, of Edwardsville, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Manor Care, Kingston.
Born Dec. 25, 1929, he was a son of the late Frank H. and Alice Olonis Trosky and resided in Edwardsville all his life.
A graduate of Edwardsville High School, he served in the U.S. Army. Robert operated the family business, Kingston Auto Sales, along with his late father and two nephews, Frank and Kenneth Trosky, until his retirement in 1989.
He was a member of the former St. Hedwig’s Church, Kingston, and a social member of the American Legion, Kingston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank C. Trosky, who died in 1965.
Known as “Uncle Robert” to many people, his most enjoyable times were spent fishing along the Susquehanna River in Wyalusing with family and friends. After the death of his brother, Robert was a guiding influence on his two nephews during their formative years and remained close to both of them and their families until his death.
Robert was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football and playing cards with all of his friends.
Surviving are his family, sister-in-law, Marie D. Trosky, Edwardsville; nephews, Frank G. Trosky and his wife, Pat, Drums; Kenneth J. Trosky and his wife, Carolyn, Shavertown; great-nephews, Attorney Frank P. Trosky and his wife, Megan, Phoenixville; Jon Trosky, Drums; Kyle Trosky, Shavertown; great-niece, Sara Trosky, Shavertown; and great-great niece and great-great nephew, Nola and Bryce Trosky, Phoenixville.
Robert was a “no fuss” guy in life and his wish was to exit in the same way. As per Robert’s request, there will be no viewing or funeral. A memorial service is pending.
