Frank Eugene Titus

Frank Eugene Titus, 90, of Shickshinny, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 22, 2009 while residing at the Bonham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he had been a resident for nearly two months.

Born March 7, 1919 in Lovedale, Pa., he was a son of the late Daniel James and Hattie Elizabeth (Hoffman) Titus. Frank served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a long haul truck driver for several companies including Wise Potato Chips and LaBar Trucking. Frank, a long-time Shickshinny resident, loved his family and friends, baseball, playing music, dancing, and recently celebrated his 90th birthday with over 200 family members and friends in attendance.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Daniel James Titus Jr., George Wesley Titus, Charles William Titus, Harry A. Titus, Mabel K. Baer, Irene Hinkey, Howard B. Titus, and Mae Hurtl; his first wife, Belva G. (Long) Titus; and great-grandchildren, Brandon Thompson and Baby Kopecki.

Surviving him is his wife, Kathryn J. (Smith) Titus; son, Vaughn Titus and companion, Elizabeth Yenkevich, Berwick; daughter, Lois Cragle and husband, Roland, Berwick; daughter, Renna Dietterick and husband Larry, Berwick; son, Dennis and wife, Roberta, Shickshinny; and daughter, Debra Laubach and husband, David, Berwick; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 77 N. Main St., Shickshinny, with Mr. Randy Boston officiating. Burial will be in Sorber Cemetery, Reyburn. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
