Margaret M. Shea, 93, formerly of Woodlawn Ave., Mountain Top and a recent guest at the Davis Manor Assisted Living Center, passed away on Tuesday morning at the Hospice Community Care Unit in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Gildea) McHugh. Prior to her retirement in 1981, Margaret worked at the RCA Company in Mountain Top.
She was a member of the St. Jude’s Church and belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society and the choir.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Patrick Shea; a sister, Alice Rollman; and a brother, James McHugh.
Margaret was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by a niece, Ann Finn, Pocono Pines, Pa.; a nephew, George Rollman, Port Jervis, N.Y., cousins Mary Clarke, Wilkes-Barre, and David Kerins, Bluffton, N.C.; several grand-nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Top Blvd., Mountain Top, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in the St. Jude’s Church.
Interment will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call on Friday evening, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Community Care, 601 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, PA 18704.
