Ronald Shiner Sr., 71, of Port Richey, Fla., and Harding, Pa., passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre on Dec. 23, 1937, a son of the late Nezza and Assad Shiner.
He was a graduate of West Pittston High School, West Pittston, a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and a former member of St. John the Baptist Church in Larksville. Ron retired in 2000 in order to enjoy spending time with his son’s family in Port Richey, Fla., and his daughter’s family in Auburn, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Theodore and George.
He is survived by son Ronald Jr. and daughter-in-law Barbara; daughter Sylvia Ann Fontes and son-in-law Philip; brother Gregory; grandchildren Ronald III., Jonathan and Samantha Shiner, and Brendan, Kyle, Conner and Brenna Fontes; former wife Sylvia Rychlewski Shiner; nieces and nephews.
