Mr. John R. Yucas, of Duryea, passed away Friday morning at his home.
Born in Taylor, he was a son of the late John and Helen Kazmiercyk Yucas. He was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1967. He was employed by Quandel Group, Carpenters Union 645, Scranton.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Duryea. He was a lifelong resident of Duryea.
John enjoyed classic cars, fishing and hunting.
He and his wife, the former Janice Scherer, have been married for 39 years.
Also surviving are his sons, John Yucas and his fiancée, Kimberly, both of Duryea; Ronnie Yucas, of Pittston Township; James Yucas and his wife, Christina, of Avoca; brother, Ronald S. Yucas, of Maryland; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Duryea. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call today, from 5 to 8 p.m.
