Valley View graduate receives scholarship for aiding Red Cross

One local student is heading off to college with a helping hand from the American Red Cross’ Northeastern Blood Center. Chelsea Neri, a 2009 graduate of Valley View High School in Archbald received a $500 scholarship for her role in helping the school win the Blood Center’s annual High School Blood Challenge. Neri, of Jessup, is the retiring president of the Valley View Leo Club. The Leo Club supports the American Red Cross Valley View Blood Council, lead by Genevieve Lupini and assisted by Stephanie Anuszewski, by helping recruit donors for and provide refreshments to donors at local blood drives. Neri plans to attend Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla., to study nursing. From left are Charlotte Wright, American Red Cross representative; Chelsea Neri; and Joseph M.
