Zeta Tau Alpha women’s fraternity will be showing its support for Susan G. Komen for the Cure■ by helping celebrate breast cancer survivors through the National Series Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program at the Komen Race for the Cure■ on Saturday, Sept. 12, in Scranton.
In 1992, ZTA joined the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in the fight against breast cancer and has continued to promote breast cancer education and awareness locally and nationally. A member of the Komen Million Dollar Council, ZTA not only donates funds to support the fight against breast cancer, but members also contribute thousands of volunteer hours annually. In addition to the Survivor Recognition Program, ZTA members across the country volunteer to promote breast cancer education and awareness through ZTA’s “Think Pink!”■ campaign.
Through the National Series Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program, breast cancer survivors receive pink caps and T-shirts to wear during Komen Race for the Cure■ events. Every year, more than 5,000 ZTA volunteers donate more than 50,000 hours to more than 100 Komen races nationwide.
