Nancy Romanowski, 69, of Valley View Drive, Clarks Summit, died Friday at VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit, Community Medical Center, Scranton.
Nancy was born on July 20, 1940. She was a daughter of the former Anna (Szulanczek) Stubbs and the late William Stubbs Sr.
She was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, Class of 1958, and the Wilkes-Barre Business College. Nancy was employed by the Abington Heights School District as a librarian’s aide before her retirement in 2005.
She enjoyed painting and house plants.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Stubbs Sr.; sister, Carol Ann Burrier; and brother, William Stubbs Jr.
Surviving, along with her mother, Anna Stubbs, are her husband, John Romanowski, who celebrated 50 years of marriage on October 31, 2009, at home; daughter, Lisa Devaney, Clarks Summit; sons, John Romanowski, Scranton; William Romanowski, Swoyersville; grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Alex, Elora and Arianna; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 North Main Street, Ashley, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch.
Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
