Golf Benton scores hole-in-one

Warren Glass of Benton scored a hole-in-one Friday at the Huntsville Golf Club in Lehman Township.

Glass aced the 153-yard, fifth hole using a 4-hybrid club.

The shot was witnessed by Kristen Armstrong and Mike Popson.

COLLEGES Huskies on TV

Bloomsburg University’s football game against West Chester will air on FOX 56, WOLF-TV.

The Huskies’ game will air on Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m. from Bloomsburg’s Redman Stadium.

Bloomsburg is 8-0 on the year and ranked fourth in Division II.

McKeighan breaks Royals’ mark

Jenn McKeighan, a senior setter on the University of Scranton volleyball team, became the Royals’ all-time leader in assists this past Saturday.

In a 3-2 loss to Lebanon Valley College at the Long Center, McKeighan had 50 assists to move ahead of Cassie Dyer (3,317; 2002-2005) on the all-time list. She came back to record 49 more assists in a 3-2 loss to Gallaudet later in the day to bring her total to 3,403. She is also third all-time in Scranton history with 211 service aces.

PSU-Iowa set for 3:30

The Big Ten announced that Penn State’s Nov. 8 game at Iowa will kick at 3:30 p.m.

The game will be an ABC regional telecast, with ESPN airing it outside the ABC coverage area.

The contest is Penn State’s 10th announced TV appearance of the season, with 173 of its last 175 games having been televised.

Clark O’Brien semifinalist

Penn State junior Daryll Clark has been selected one of 13 semifinalists for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award.

Clark has led the Nittany Lions to a 9-0 overall record, including a Big Ten-leading 5-0 conference mark, and a No. 3 ranking in the Bowl Championship Series standings and polls.

Clark was the only quarterback from a Big Ten school to be selected an O’Brien Award semifinalist.

Fans are able to vote for semifinalist candidates once daily at www.VoteOBrien.org. The voting will continue through the semifinalist and finalist rounds with five percent of the final tally coming directly from the fan vote.
