Coughlin tops Nanticoke

WILKES-BARRE – Joe Caffery scored 12 points to lead Coughlin to a 48-32 victory in the opening round of the Crusader Holiday Tournament Saturday night.

Coughlin will face Abington Heights on Monday in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. Meyers will face Nanticoke at 6 p.m. in the consolation game.

Jordan Flaherty and Brian Wesicarger added 11 points each for the Crusaders.

Nantcioke was lead by Sean Bieski’s 20 points.

Tom Feeney Tournament West Side Tech 66, St. Rose Academy 34

Host West Side Tech outscored St. Rose 29-6 in the second and third quarters to take a commanding 49-22 lead into the fourth quarter and coasted to a victory.

Tech will play Weatherly, a 92-50 winner over Columbia-Mountour Tech, in the championship game on Jan. 30.

T.J. Konopke lead Tech with 16 points.
