Papaver Jewelry out of Portland, Ore., is the creation of artist Maggie Kearns. After receiving her bachelor of fine arts degree in 2001, Kearns decided to do what she loves, and that was to make things that glitter. A fan of anything that sparkles, the artist wanted to accessorize rather than be instructed by someone else for the rest of her life. Since her love for making jewelry followed her throughout the years, she began working on new designs in her studio and selling them at the Portland Saturday Market and boutiques all over Portland and the country.
The designs seen were made from unused bottle caps. Each design is drawn by Kearns and then copied on cardstock. Each piece is adorned with glitter or rhinestones or something bright and sparkly. There are pins, hairclips, earrings, necklaces, rings, magnets and dog tags.
