Coughlin rallies for win over Tunkhannock

WILKES-BARRE -- After dropping the first game at home, Coughlin rallied to win three tight games in a row for a 3-1 win with game scores being 21-25, 25-23, 25-21, 26-24 victory over Tunkhannock in Wyoming Valley Conference boys volleyball action.

Steven Cantoran (14 digs), Justin Coskey (7 kills) and Michael Shmakov (8 kills, 6 blocks, 6 service points) topped Coughlin.

Connor McCloskey (17 blocks, 4 kills) and Eric Smith (3 kills, 15 digs) were the leaders for the Tigers.

North Pocono 3, Hanover Area 0

Joe Bonacci (9 kills, 1 service point), Jeremy Ferguson (10 service points) and Sam Grissinger (11 service points, 3 kills) helped the Trojans to a 25-6, 25-8, 25-7 sweep.

Adam Yaros (4 digs, 3 assists 1 block) led the Hawkeyes.

Wyoming Valley West 3, Lake-Lehman 0

Andrew Connell (8 service points, 31 assists), Alex Czopek (8 kills, blocks, 5 digs) and Ryan Karpowski (11 points, 11 kills, 5 digs) all contributed to the Spartans’ 25-20, 25-11, 25-15 sweep.

Adam Supy (11 assists, 3 blocks, 2 digs) and Jared Brown (6 kills, 6 blocks) paced the Black Knights.

Holy Redeemer 3, Delaware Valley 0

Brian May had a match-high 10 kills to help lead the Royals to a 25-11, 25-12, 25-20 sweep.

May added 2 blocks, 1 assist, 3 aces and 2 digs, while Nick Latosek (5 kills, 2 blocks, 13 assists, 11 points, 2 digs), Zach Redding (7 kills, 1 block, 8 assists, 11 points) and Aaron Remakus (8 kills, 2 blocks, 2 points) also chipped in.
