DUPONT: The Greater Pittston Area Chapter 1723 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 1 p.m. May 14 in the Dupont Veterans of Foreign Wars Post home with John Ryan presiding. A memorial service will be conducted for deceased members Sterling Davis and Louis J. DeGennaro. The audit committee will give its report and plans for the June 11 luncheon will be discussed. All members are urged to attend.

The club recently welcomed new members Joe Lavelle, Madge Davis and Angela Kearney and Marion Perks was selected as NARFE PAC chairman.

EXETER: The Cosmopolitan Seniors is accepting reservations for a trip June 10 to Hollywood Casino, near Hershey.

EXETER: The Exeter Senior Citizens Social Club invites the public on its trip to Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course May 6. Cost is $25 with $20 cash and $5 food vouchers returned. The bus will pickup travelers from two locations.

JENKINS TWP.: The Jenkins Township Senior Citizen organization has rescheduled the annual anniversary dinner to begin 6 p.m. May 5 at the Jenkins Township Hose Company.

KINGSTON: The Kingston Senior Citizen Center, 680 Wyoming Ave., will celebrate Kentucky Derby Day Friday. Members are asked to wear their Derby hats.

There will be a meditation with Jean at 1 p.m. Monday and the movie “27 Dresses” will be shown.

NANTICOKE: The Rose Tucker Center at Mercy Nanticoke Senior Center, located in the basement of the Mercy Special Care Building, West Washington Street, will host a program on arthritis presented by Rehab Services at Mercy Special care at 10:45 a.m. today.

PLAINS TWP.: The Plains Senior Citizens Project Head will meet May 6 at St. Joseph’s Church Hall, Martin Street, Hudson, which is wheelchair accessible. New members are invited.

Hosts are Kevin O’Connor, Lena Spagnuolo, Frances Steve, Emily Strinkoski, Theresa Suchoski, Helen Trasciatti and Jean Trosky.

Plans are being made for a trip to Wildwood, N.J., May 31-June 4 that includes an excursion to Atlantic City, N.J.

SHICKSHINNY: The Shickshinny Senior Center, 19 W. Vine St., will offer blood pressure screenings by Lynn Wood of Berwick Home Health Wednesday. For membership information, call 542-4308.

SWOYERSVILLE: The Swoyersville Senior Citizens will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at in the basement of Holy Trinity Church on Hughes Street.

TUNKHANNOCK: The Wyoming County Senior Center, 101 Dymond Terrace, will host a presentation on allergies by Caresite Pharmacy at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

WILKES-BARRE: At a recent meeting, the Rainbow Seniors celebrated the birthdays of members Angie Hummel, Bernice Krasnahill, Elizabeth Pierson and Rita Thomas and the wedding anniversaries of Wassell and Dorothy Evans, the Rev. James and Doris Harring, and Daniel and Rita Thomas.

The club will celebrate its 19th anniversary at 4 p.m. May 19 at Old Country Buffet, East End Center, Wilkes-Barre Township.
