St. Jude’s fundraiser helps research hospital

St. Jude’s School took part in a Math-A-Thon, an educationally based fund raising program in which students obtain sponsors for the number of math problems completed in special workbooks. More than $2,000 was raised to benefit the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Noah Dean raised the highest single amount. Paula Kovaleski, of St. Jude’s faculty, reported that during the time she has been the coordinator of this program, the students have raised more than $62,000 for the research hospital. Thirty-eight of the students raised at least $35 and received a T-shirt, a certificate and a U.S. Six Flags Theme Park ticket.
