Marilyn Ungate, 60, a resident of Weatherwood Nursing Home, Weatherly, Pa., died Saturday, July 25, 2009, after a lengthy illness.
Born October 29, 1948, in Ridley Park, Pa., she was a daughter of the late William and Mary McKelvey Ungate.
Marilyn’s innocence and charm touched the lives of all those who cared so lovingly for her over the years. She was a resident at the Step by Step Group Home in Nazareth, Pa., for 17 years.
Prior to that, she resided at White Haven Center and Hamburg State School. She attended St. Lucy’s School for the Blind in Philadelphia, while residing at home with her family in Ridley Park.
Marilyn loved to sing and play the piano and recite Christian poetry. She loved her Steve Urkel doll and dog Sparky.
Marilyn’s twin sister, Anita, died in infancy.
Marilyn is survived by her sisters, Therese Kosek and her husband, Gunnar; Veronica George and her husband, Scott; brothers Mark Ungate, Quantico, Va.; John Ungate, Bailey, Colo.; as well as 11 nieces and nephews.
Private arrangements are by Thomas PK Funeral Home, Palmerton, Pa.
