David A. Hegedty, 63, of Falls, passed away on Monday morning at Mercy Home Health and Hospice at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.
Born in Dover, N.J., on April 27, 1945, he was a son of the late John and Betty Schell Hegedty.
His wife is Elizabeth Scaife.
Prior to his illness, he was a self-employed general contractor serving the Falls area. He was a life member of the N.R.A. and also the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed the outdoors, farming, fishing and antique tractors.
David was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Robert; and a sister, Margaret. Surviving are his wife; two sons, George and Michelle, Factoryville; John and Jennifer, Tunkhannock; a daughter, Diane, Falls; five brothers, Jack, Flushing, N.Y; Edmond, Nicholson; Thomas and Paul, Tunkhannock; Kenneth, Auburn Center; three sisters, Barb and Bruno Mayewski; Shirley and Stanley Dymond, Beaumont; and Susie and Paul Morgan, Sugar Notch; two grandchildren, Victoria and Kyle.
Services will be at the Harding Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, on Thursday. Interment will be at Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
