Lorraine E. (Johnson) Kishbaugh, 82, of Shickshinny, ended her journey on Earth and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at the Berwick Retirement Village I.
Born on April 22, 1926, in Shickshinny, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Theodora (Bloshinski) Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin R. Kishbaugh, who died April 11, 1996. They had been married for 48 years.
Lorraine was a graduate of Shickshinny High School. She was a former tax collector for Shickshinny Borough.
She was a former member of the Shickshinny ambulance crew and served as an inspector of the election board. She worked in the business offices of Bill Johnson Chevrolet and Brown Chevrolet auto dealerships in Berwick. She retired as the purchasing agent for Berwick Weaving.
She was a former choir director for the Shickshinny United Methodist Church and shared her musical talents as a member of the Sweet Adelines.
Lorraine was an active member of the Bethany United Methodist Church of Berwick, where she sang in the church choir. She was a lifetime member of the Shick-Shawnee Lodge Chapter 190, Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by brother Ralph Johnson; sisters Lucille McHenry, Martha Yaple, Isabel McClure and Winifred Tyler.
Lorraine is survived by her son, Melvin (Joan) H. Kishbaugh, Berwick, and Kerry (Mary) R. Kishbaugh, Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren, Mrs. Chris (Denise) Roberts, Canisteo, N.Y.; Kerry Richard (Missy) Kishbaugh, Berwick; Bradley (Danielle) Kishbaugh, Berwick, and Michael (Diane) Kishbaugh, Foundryville; 11 great-grandchildren, Michael, Taylor and Brandon Kishbaugh; Kyle Roberts; Gabrielle Kishbaugh; Kameron Roberts; and Rachael, Alyssa, Aidan, Spencer Kishbaugh and Hunter Kishbaugh; sister Beverly (Charles, deceased) Walters, Hamburg, N.Y.; her brother, Lloyd (Gertrude) Johnson, Berwick.
Friends will be received Thursday, December 4, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Kelchner-McMichael Funeral Home Inc., 119-121 E. Third St., Berwick. A one-hour visitation will be held Friday morning. from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Betheny United Methodist Church, Berwick. Her funeral service will begin at 11 following visitation at the Bethany United Methodist Church, Berwick. The Rev. Joseph F. Brady, her pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.
