PITTSTON – Police are investigating a retail theft at Quinn’s Market on Kennedy Boulevard on Nov. 20.
The alleged thief is accused of distracting the manager to the back of the store and leaving with a shopping cart full of groceries and two children aboard, police said.
The manager told police he took off after the woman and saw her getting into a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Police said the woman then backed up, almost ran him over and took off towards Main Street.
The woman is described to be in her 30s, heavy set, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with blonde hair and teeth in poor condition, police said. Officers are attempting to identify the woman by store surveillance.

WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:
Police said Star Napolitano, 30, alleged her boyfriend, Donald Garey, 31, hit her in the mouth and banged her head off a screen door at 69 Logan St. around 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said Garey fled before they arrived. Charges of simple assault will be filed against him, police said.
Two women, both described as in their late 20s, were seen leaving Burlington Coat Factory, 47 Spring St., with stolen merchandise at 11:21 a.m. Tuesday, police said. They both fled in a gold Pontiac Grand Am traveling west on Pine Street.
Police said someone cashed a forged check for $450 at Anthracite Newsstand, 1 E. Market St., on Nov. 24.
The incident is under investigation, police said.
Joseph Kelley, of 59 Division St., Hanover Township, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol after he drove his vehicle into the Heights Elementary Playground just after 7 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
Police said Paul Woychio, 36, of Plymouth, was observed by the department’s Viper Unit leaving the area of a local drugstore with a quantity of stolen merchandise on the 500 block of Carey Avenue on Nov. 28.
Woychio was allegedly stolen hygiene products worth more than $300, police said.
He will be arraigned on charges of receiving stolen property and retail theft, police said.
• Marilyn Putriment reported items were stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in the area of 140 S. Grant St. on Tuesday, police said.
• Victorio Calderon, 48, of Plymouth, was charged by police on evidence of drunken driving after a crash in the area of 245 N. Main St. on Saturday, police said.
Calderon struck several vehicles at about 11:40 p.m., police said.
He was transported for a blood alcohol test, police said.
Police filed two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, and one count each of accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle and failure to have insurance against Calderon with District Judge Martin Kane in Wilkes-Barre.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 7 in Central Court.
