Thomas R. Crispino

Thomas R. Crispino, formerly of Dupont, and recently of West Pittston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at the Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

He was born in Scranton, a son of the late Josephine (D’Angelo) Crispino and Nicholas Crispino. He was a graduate of Scranton Tech High School and Radio School.

He attained the rank of staff sergeant while in the U.S. Army. Thomas served in Greenland during World War II. Prior to retirement, he worked at the Tobyhanna Army Depot.

He was a longtime musician, playing with many local bands. He played with the Marywood Wind Ensemble, also the Jazz Band. He was awarded a 30-year service plaque at Marywood.

He was a member for 60 years with the American Federation for Musicians of N.Y.C. He belonged to the local 120 Musicians Union, where he served as a board member.

He is survived by his loving spouse of 41 years, Dorothy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Nicholas and Leo Crispino; and his sister, Lucy Pica.

Funeral services are Saturday by the Graziano Funeral Home, Inc., 700 Township Blvd., Pittston Township, PA, 18640 at 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Rocco’s R.C. Church in Pittston, Pa. on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Denison Cemetery Community Mausoleum, Swoyersville, Pa.

The viewing will be held on Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Joseph’s Center, Dunmore, or Oblates of St. Joseph, Route 315.
